Our Mission
At Little Black Girl From The Bay Productions, we are committed to shaping present and future generations through the art of filmmaking. We create impactful narratives that re-imagine and expand representations of Black womanhood, de-tokenizing the concept of "Black Girl Magic" through bold, cinematic storytelling. By supporting our work, you uplift artists reclaiming their narratives and reshaping the cultural canon.
Our Vision
To redefine the cultural landscape by expanding and re-imagining representations of Black womanhood through bold, cinematic storytelling—liberating the narrative of "Black Girl Magic" from tokenism and empowering artists to reclaim their stories and reshape the canon for generations to come.
Our Mentorship Initiative
“Lifting as we climb” - the words of Mary Mcleod Bethune, is the motto of our mentorship initiative. We are focused on creating a space for women, particularly women of color, to shine and share their artistry. We are passionate about creating opportunities for youth and young adults on set to learn the ins and outs of film-making.
We are proud to share that during the filming of Brief Exchanges 80% of our department heads were women. We were honored to have 2 students on set as interns who were able to work hand and hand with our diverse cast and crew.
